Scholarships
Riverdale,
NJ, August 14, 2006—The Riverdale Business Association,
in conjunction with Riverdale PBA,
the Riverdale Pistol Team and the
Tri-Borough Chamber of Commerce, recently
awarded $14,000 in scholarships to area students.

President of the Riverdale Business
Association, John Puglise, Vice President
and Scholarship Committee Chairman,
and Ted Guis, President of the
Riverdale Pistol Team, presided over
the annual RBA Scholarship Awards Dinner
held at Berta’s Chateau
in Wanaque. Representatives from the organizations were present,
along with the scholarship recipients and their parents. Everyone
enjoyed a good time and a fine dinner at Berta’s.
Scholarship recipients include: Elizabeth Harsley, Michelle Anders,
Carissa Carey, Matthew Maher, Jesse Holm, Kaitlin Tambuscio, Elizabeth
Gardiner, Katie Stanton, Tara Szabo, Nicole Szabo, Amelia Frast,
Dennis Budesheim, Bryan Jones, and Jarred Bush.
Mr. McCarthy gave an inspirational speech to the students about
reaching their personal goals. Mr. Puglise added that this is the
most rewarding part of the RBA year. He noted that there were many
more deserving applicants who unfortunately could not be accommodated.
All of the applications were very impressive, not only academically
but with their levels of involvement in charitable organizations
and extra-curricular activities.
The RBA operates to promote local business to support local charitable
organizations and to promote good will
in the community and in the school system. The RBA invites small
businesses, commercial and
professional enterprises that do business
in the greater Riverdale area to join them. The RBA meets on the
third Monday of every month.

Holiday Tree Lighting
Each December our organization sponsors
the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
on the lawn of the school. We provide not only the lights
for the tree, but refreshments
for all who attend the event.
Volunteerism Essay Competition
Each year we sponsor a volunteerism
essay contest.
